This 60 minute class is designed to help you open up and stretch your body after a long day at work. With a focus on opening and releasing through our chest, hips, back and mind we will let go of tension, blocked energy, negative emotion and draining thoughts. We also start with a short pranayama to calm and soothe the mind and prepares us for the yoga practice. Enjoy.

This practice is an all level sequence.

A quick yoga sequence that you can do at your desk in your office or at home to help reduce stress inside your body and mind and also wake up and energise your body. We also cover a really amazing breathing techique that you can use any time throughout your day to help relax your body. It is the 4-7-8 method which is inhaling through your nose for a count of 4, holding the breath in for 7 and then exhaling through your mouth for a count of 8. Taking deep breaths in like this pushes our diaphragm down and stimulates our parasympathetic nervous system. This activates a relax, rest and restore response in our body and turns off the stress response that we find ourselves operating in as we address the demands of our day.

One of the most important parts of your run is the cool down and stretch and it is so often the part we skip. After your run your muscles are nice and warm and it is the perfect time to stretch them out. This helps to not only give your muscles a relaxing release and help avoid tightness and stiffness the next day but also improves your flexibility which in turn improves your range of motion.
